Boldly Standing

During the Sunday morning church service, the pastor preached a heartfelt message and at the end he gave an alter call for baptisms. He asked, “All that would like to be baptized, please stand up.” As I looked over, I saw one of our own, boldly standing. She walked to the altar and was lead to another room where she waited for her turn to be baptized.

I watched her step into the water unsure and nervous but as she came back up, she was a new woman. The look of anxiousness was washed away and a smile replaced it.

On the drive home and for the rest of the day, all she could talk about was “An indescribable peace!” She told me that she was a woman of anxiety. “I had a lot of fears I didn’t even realize I had, but now I feel calm, comfort, and peace. A huge weight has been lifted.”

She came to my room later that night still in awe. So, I asked her if she was glad she made the stand to be baptized. She told me “I am overjoyed, which means a lot because it’s a statement, representing my moving on from the old and starting anew. That’s exactly what I’m doing here at the Sheepfold. Being here is not just about getting a job and shelter, it’s also about healing—inside and out.”

When I heard her say those words, my heart melted, I felt so proud of her. It is amazing to see God’s hand at work.

Young Believers Make a Difference

THANK YOU ROYAL RANGERS OUTPOST 248

Royal Rangers Outpost 248, from Calvary Chapel East Anaheim, provided us with a Father Son workday at the Sheepfold Boutique. Royal Rangers is a mentor program for young men K-12. The young men who helped us were 11-13 years old and were Adventure Rangers working on their Service Project for one of their Leadership Merits.

The time they gave was very helpful at the Boutique. We were impressed by the hard work put in by this group. We also were honored to be part of seeing dads demonstrate to their sons the value of helping others.

WHAT SERVING MEANT TO ME...

FROM GIRL SCOUT TROOP 852:

After almost a year of preparation, the best part of the event was seeing the smiles on the families’ faces and knowing that in a small way we made a difference, even if it was just one day.

The experience helped all of us realize that simple acts of kindness can go a long way. We may never know if we made a difference, but we hope that we helped make their day a little better.

FROM BROWNIE TROOP 3480:

Every year, we do a service project, and this year our troop really wanted to do something for kids close to their own age using the money they earned during Cookie Sales. They absolutely loved hosting an Easter party for children at Sheepfold!

It was the first time they've gotten to "host" an event where they were able to plan the crafts, games, and an Easter egg hunt. Their favorite part was having fun with the children - so much so that they didn't want to leave! We really appreciated the opportunity to give our girls a hands-on way to serve others.

A Time to Celebrate!

Birthdays and Baby Showers are celebrated in grand style in the Sheepfold homes. So many of our moms and kids have never had these special days lovingly acknowledged with parties that include decorations, favorite foods, cakes and gifts.

These celebrations are often decorated with supplies from Birthday and Baby Shower Box donations. Thank you for being part of giving these special gifts to them!

Birthday and Baby Shower baskets are always welcome donations!

Therefore encourage one another and build up one another.

Thank You Easter Basket and Clothing Donors

Easter is a wonderful time celebrating our Lord’s Resurrection. We are very thankful for our awesome donors who donate Easter clothes or create beautiful Easter baskets for our moms and kids.

The clothing helps each mom and child feel special as they dress up for church on Sunday morning. The baskets include Easter goodies and candy but most importantly each basket has a Bible, devotional or Bible craft for our moms and kids.

We couldn’t provide these gifts without your help. The Easter baskets and church clothes are a wonderful expression of the love of Christ on such a blessed day.
