A Blessed Evening at Sheepfold

One of my most memorable moments as a House Manager at the Sheepfold, was when one of our moms chose to accept Christ during our daily Bible Study.

This particular experience is special because it was her first day and first Bible study at our Sheepfold home. Bible Study normally starts with an opening prayer. On this night during opening prayer, I could sense the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart, to offer this mom His gift of salvation and to have her dedicate her life to Christ.

No sooner had I shared Christ, our Messiah, with her she started balling her eyes out. She was literally crying inconsolably, tears just poured down her face as though she was releasing all her burdens and she gave her life to Christ that night!

That was her first miracle, and the second one was her reconciliation and restored relationship with her mom whom she carried much resentment towards. I’d like to say that she finished and graduated our program. However, that was her first and last night at the Sheepfold. She left the following day to be with her mother who is very connected in her local church family and I’m sure had been praying for her daughter. Last I heard, she was attending church regularly and living with her mom.

She’s one of many that this ministry serves in such a powerful way.

Respectively and humbly,

Marisela, Sheepfold House Manager

Would You Like To Adopt a Family for Christmas?

At Christmas we provide a joyous and Christ-filled holiday for the women and children staying at the Sheepfold. We are able to do this with the help of individuals and companies who generously donate gifts or participate in our Adopt A Family (AAF) program.

Adopting a family means providing a portion of the gifts a family receives Christmas morning. When you call or email, you will be provided with information which includes an AAF number (to protect the family’s identity), ages, sizes and gift suggestions from a family’s Wish List.

Our deadline to drop off the unwrapped gifts for the AAF program is Friday, December 6th. This allows us enough time to organize, wrap and transport the gifts to the shelters for Christmas morning.

Please call (714) 237-1444 or email kathy@thesheepfold.org to participate in the AAF program or for more information. You can also find general gift ideas on our Registry and Wish List found on www.thesheepfold.org.
