Since Graduating from the Sheepfold...

My children and I were living in a 1-bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor in a low income apartment complex. My daughters were 2 and 3 years old and going up and down a flight of concrete stairs was a struggle. On multiple occasions I had to catch them from falling down the stairs. Carrying groceries and watching out for my children was very stressful at times.

Although the units were recently remodeled, our apartment had a prevalent roach problem and unfavorable neighbors. To combat the bugs the apartment management required us to remove everything from cabinets and move all furniture away from the walls so they could fumigate once a month. But the treatment never lasted long, and it was very difficult to do that on a weeknight after a full day of work.

I was consistently praying for what the Lord may have for my family's future while simultaneously thanking Him that we had a roof over our heads and food in our bellies. By God's amazing provision I got a call that an incredibly generous woman wanted to rent her house to a single mother for a very affordable price. I could not believe it! The house is a beautiful 3-bedroom 2-bath house. We are now down the street from my children's daycare and in a safe neighborhood. I feel so blessed that the day-to-day responsibilities have been simplified immensely by being on the first floor and having a washer and dryer. My girls have their own rooms and beds. Sometimes I still feel like I don't deserve such a blessing, but I remember that's God's amazing grace! Now I feel led by the Lord to bless someone in need.

Thank you all for impacting my family's life for the better!

Milk Shakes All Around!

Celebrating one of our amazing mom's new job opportunity with shakes!

This Mom persevered for months applying for a position in a competitive field. The Lord blessed her this week with a job offer for even more than she had hoped for!

Thank God for giving her the strength to keep searching and not settling for less than God had planned for her and her children. The future's looking bright for this family!

Thanks for continued prayers as the residents work hard trusting the Lord to restore their lives! God bless!

Would You Like to Adopt a Family for Christmas?

At Christmas we provide a joyous and Christ-filled holiday for our families at the Sheepfold. Adopting a family means providing a portion of the gifts a family receives Christmas morning. When you call or email, you will be provided with information which includes an AAF number (to protect the family's identity), ages, sizes and gift suggestions from a family's Wish List.

The deadline to drop off the unwrapped gifts for the AAF program is Wednesday, December 8th. This allows us enough time to organize, wrap and transport the gifts to the homes for Christmas morning.

Please call (714) 237-1444 or email kathy@thesheepfold.org to participate in the AAF program or for more information. You may also check our website for our Registry or general Gift List.
