One Mom's Story...

I’m 25 years old and have two beautiful children (and one on the way). I am currently residing at Sheepfold, where God has blessed me with wonderful mentors and ladies overcoming similar obstacles such as mine.

Much like many of the residents here, I come from a very chaotic background and dysfunctional family. Through the dysfunction I was introduced to drugs, which took me to a very dark place in my life. My decision to use drugs led to homelessness, domestic violence and potentially losing my kids to Child Protective Services.

The Lord rescued me from that. He brought me through a 6 month drug rehabilitation center and then into a loving home also known as The Sheepfold.

No words can explain the amount of gratitude I have for this program and the structure it provided for me and my children. I wake up every day to a beautiful breakfast, smiling faces, and soft playing worship music. I get to learn about the Lord on a daily basis and continually enter into his presence, my children are safe, and I’m finally beginning to find myself again. I’m so blessed to have a safe place I can call home.

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run, and not grow weary; and they will walk, and not be faint.

Our Newest Little Lamb

Meet The Sheepfold's newest arrival! She was welcomed home by a big sister and big brother on December 9th. We are so thankful that the Lord allowed us to provide a safe place for this mom to carry full-term. God is so good!

Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.

- Matthew 19:14

Christmas Thanks

As Christmas photos continue to trickle into our office, we wish to share the gratefulness of our residents and staff for all your kind prayers, generous volunteer time, love, gift donations, and adoption of a family for Christmas and ongoing support during this holy season and throughout this past year. We would not be able to provide for these mothers and kids without your many prayers and contributions.

Thank you Sheepfold. I am really thankful for my presents, and having fun opening them was awesome.

- Nathan

Thank you for the gifts, I really love them, especially the Lego's and the Razor scooter, and, hope you guys had a Merry Christmas.

- Elijah

Thank you, Jesus! Thank you Sheepfold staff, volunteers, and donors for everything you have sacrificed to bless us this Christmas. We love our gifts and are super thankful for all of them. It is always very humbling to be on the receiving end, but it is all the more reason to give glory to our Savior. I pray it blesses you to know, and pray He blesses you all so abundantly that you will be driven to give praise, thanks, and honor for His goodness to you.

We Wish to Thank Young Women of Vision

This young women’s group has contributed time, talent and love to our residents this past year. In the fall they provided pizza and brought pumpkins for the kids to decorate. They also served popcorn while the families enjoyed an outdoor movie together.

At Christmas time they served dinner to our families, made Christmas crafts, and went to the 2nd Step Resident’s apartments and helped decorate each family’s Christmas tree. We are always so blessed when this group comes to serve.

Young Women of Vision (YWOV) is a volunteer ministry that unites Christian mothers and High School daughters who desire to grow in the knowledge, love, and service of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Transformed by this love, Young Women of Vision invest their time, talent and resources to serve impoverished women and children by being the Hands and Feet of Christ. As a chapter (Orange County) we focus on the meaning of Romans 12, emphasizing the importance of not conforming to this world but transforming it.

Our desire is that as a community we will model Christ-like behavior through service and by making a commitment to lead by example. Each grade level serves a specific ministry. The Sophomore Class serves the Sheepfold.
