Dear Friends,

In these days of uncertainty, we are thankful to God that He has strengthened the Sheepfold to be an example of the dynamic power of His Word, His spirit to heal, restore, save and provide. This is not just for the women and children we shelter, but for everyone who will believe and receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

As we celebrated Christmas a few weeks ago, we were reminded that love is the answer to every problem. God's love for us — our responding love for Him and each other. We strive to be an expression of God's love for the helpless and brokenhearted. Our goal is to restore their dignity and establish their hearts with their loving Creator.

Our message is the same today as it was 43 years ago, that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God unto salvation. As our Founder Fran Lundquist used to say, “We do not know what the future holds, but we do know who holds the future!”

Kids Studying the Bible

One thing I love about my job is that I get to minister to and disciple the women and children that come through our shelter. Recently, one of our 11-year-old kids prayed to receive Christ. Thanks to our generous donors, I was able to give her a Bible. The next day, she shared with me that she had read 13 chapters of Genesis and even wrote out her own Bible Study.

I looked at the questions and thought, “These are hard questions to answer even for me!” I asked her if she knew the answers and she said she plans on looking them up later. I let her know that this is exactly what God wants us to do. We ask questions and find out the answers so that we can be sure of what we believe and why. So then we can be prepared to give an answer when we are asked. I let her know that I am here to help her if and when she gets stuck!

What a blessing it is to be able to see God grab ahold of our kids' hearts and witness them working out their faith.

Meet Miss Lorraine

This is Miss Lorraine; she is a substitute House Manager here at the Sheepfold. We are so thankful for our substitutes!

Miss Lorraine is drawn to ministry because she enjoys loving on the families and watching them grow and heal through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Please be praying for our substitute Manager Team as they serve our families, they are a very important part of our overall strategy! When one of our managers is out for personal reasons, illness, or vacation, they step in and keep the shelter homes running smoothly. They are truly a blessing to our ministry!

Growing with Sheepfold

Over the past couple of years, Sheepfold has expanded our services and began to open its doors to women who have children with special needs. In one particular case we took a mom whose baby had multiple physical and developmental delays.

Just a week ago this mom was told, by the baby's doctors, that her baby's condition is terminal. This devasting news has crushed our mom's heart and the hearts of all in the household. Even in this darkest valley we offer Christ's compassion in love and prayer. In order to prepare to give this care, we are reminded to stay on our knees and in His Word on a daily basis. This will allow us to transfer the strength and comfort we receive from God's Word to serve each family's needs.

I feel so blessed to be part of this ministry that extends help to so many families that would otherwise be turned away. The Sheepfold is truly the “Hands and Feet” of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
