Cheriesse's Story...

I had to write a note to say thank you for helping me, my mom and my younger sister. We have been going through a lot ever since I was young. We have been moving from motels, shelters and other places for a long time. It has been great being in one spot for this long. My mom, sister and I are doing so much better since being here.

The road has been difficult, but we are each in a better place now than when we arrived. The Lord has revealed the anger that is in my heart. I'm working through with the help of my House Managers and the Lord. I now know how much God loves me and how He has been helping me through the years even though I couldn't see it. The Lord has been the greatest help when dealing with my anger. I know that God is good. I'm grateful to Him for bringing us to the Sheepfold. I'm also thankful to all the Sheepfold staff. I pray the Lord blesses the Sheepfold organization and that they are able to help more kids like me.

Domestic Violence

Our intake team often gets calls from women who are confused and hurting. They ask if what they are going through is even abuse—and if they eligible for help. These women are living in constant fear of upsetting their partner and causing more incidents of abuse. They are walking on eggshells, battling anxiety and self-doubt.

The Sheepfold is here to present hope and safe refuge for women and children who are being affected by domestic violence. As October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we would like to invite you all to visit our website www.thesheepfold.org and learn more about domestic violence and ways that you might help.

Join us in being the catalyst in your workplaces, churches, families, friend groups and communities for the 1:4 women affected by domestic violence; that they might receive the hope, healing and safety they need. Partner with us in being the hands and feet of Christ for the hurting and hopeless.

... He will satisfy your needs ... and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

Would You Like To Adopt A Family for Christmas?

At Christmas we provide a joyous and Christ-filled holiday for the women and children staying at the Sheepfold. We are able to do this with the help of individuals and companies who generously donate gifts or participate in our Adopt A Family (AAF) program.

Adopting a family means providing a portion of the gifts a family receives Christmas morning. When you call or email, you will be provided with information which includes an AAF number (to protect the family's identity), ages, sizes and gift suggestions from a family's Wish List.

The deadline to drop off the unwrapped gifts for the AAF program is Monday, December 9th. This allows us enough time to organize, wrap and transport the gifts to the homes for Christmas morning.

Please call (714) 237-1444 or email andrea@thesheepfold.org to participate in the AAF program or for more information. You may also check our website for our Registry or general Gift List

Welcome Fall, Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice!

It has been such a joy to get out and about enjoying all the season has to offer. Pumpkin patches, hayrides and yummy fall treats have provided for some pretty fun memories.

Christmas Volunteers

Christmas is our favorite time of year here at the Sheepfold, not only do we get to celebrate the birth of our Savior, but we also get to have an amazing time with the families we serve. With all the joy that fills our homes during the Christmas season, there is much to be done to prepare for the Christmas festivities.

We are looking for some wonderful volunteers to come along our staff to help us celebrate the holiday. We could use help preparing the shelters for Christmas by hanging lights, setting up decorations, preparing Christmas gifts for our families, and much more. If you'd like to join us for the Christmas fun, we have a mandatory volunteer meeting on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 9am-10am. Come get informed and involved in the Sheepfold Christmas season.

To RSVP for the meeting, simply email our Volunteer Coordinator at isela@thesheepfold.org.
