In Our Homes...

|
God is at work, especially during this unique time! The COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging, but the ministry continues to serve and care for women and children with Christ at the center. Psalm 23, a wonderfully comforting scripture, has been shared daily throughout the Sheepfold homes. The daily Bible studies seem to be richer and deeper as the moms are home more due to lack of work, online schooling, and the pausing of non-essential county programs. Moms and their children have been blessed with extra time to play games and read with their children, a blessing for their relationships.
We have instituted all of the additional safety protocols recommended by the government and the CDC. We have ensured our residents that they are not in danger of “running out of time” in our program due to these circumstances, we have done this by instituting a “pause” in program requirements such as work, school, and accomplishing “to do” lists.
As one of our residents so beautifully put it, “Even though everything seems crazy in the world right now, it feels like there is nothing wrong or to even worry about when I walk into the Sheepfold house.” We covet your prayers for continued peace and provision for our residents and staff during this time.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7

... I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
- Psalm 23:4
Your Support...
In part, your support goes toward equipping staff to best serve the families in our program through things such as CPR and First Aid training.
In recent years, our House Manager Team has successfully administered the Heimlich maneuver on five residents in our program including one infant!
We are thankful that the Lord graciously allowed us to be in the right place at the right time to literally save lives while we share the Gospel and help move families along their road to self-sufficiency.
Thank you,
Carley Overturf, Sheepfold Shelter Supervisor
